Information on payment of membership fees

1. Invoice issued

You can issue your own invoices. For details on the procedure, please click on the link below.

  • Invoice issuance procedure

If you are unable to use the PDF invoice, please contact the secretariat office.

2. Payment Procedure

As a general rule, payment of membership fees should be made online through your “My Page”. Please login to your “My Page” from the following URL to make your payment.

For details on the login procedure and interface of “My Page”, please click on the links below.

  • Login for the first time
  • Forgot your password?
  • My Page screen structure

A. Credit Card Payment

There are two types of credit card payment.

  • Credit Card Payment (One-off) : credit card information will be required at every payment.
  • Credit Card Payment (Auto-renewal) : your credit card information at the first payment will be automatically registered.

JASID is only contracted for “One-off”. For more derails, please click on the link below.

B. Bank Transfer

If you select Bank Transfer, please issue your bank account number from My Page.

  • It is not possible to change the payment method after acceptance.
  • You can pay only at Japanese banks.

For more derails, please click on the link below.

When using Bank Check, please be sure to also read the precautions listed on the following page.

C. Direct payment from your institution

If you pay your membership fee to JASID from your institution directly, please note the following points before proceeding.

  • Members who wish to pay your membership fee from your institutions must notify the following two items to the headquarters office in advance.
    – Name of the payee (your institution’s name)
    – Expected date of payment
  • Please write either [member’s name] or [member’s 6-digit number] in the name of the payee or in the correspondence box. (We receive many deposits for which the subject is unknown. And the reconciliation process is taking an inordinate amount of time!)
  • Please pay the transfer fee.
  • Remittances to Japan Post Bank are not immediately reflected on your “My page”. It takes 1-2 weeks for the deposit information to be reflected on your “My page”.

D. Pay by postal transfer

Those who are not able to use the online payment system on “My Page” can continue to pay to the Japan Post Bank account. Please read the following and follow the procedure according to the payment method that suits you best.

Please note that using “Bank Check” for account transfers is more economical in the following respects.

  • A Resona Bank account number is issued for each invoice, and a record of the payment is kept on the member’s My Page when the payment is completed.
  • The payment fee is borne by the association.
  • Receipts can be issued immediately.

For this reason, members who make transfers from their own accounts or ATMs are encouraged to use Bank Check.

From your bank account

  1. Please select credit card payment method on “My Page”
  2. Please download the invoice.
  3. Please pay to the Japan Post Bank account number shown on the invoice.

Using the transfer form

  1. Please select credit card as the payment method on your “My Page”
  2. Please request us a postal transfer form to be mailed
  3. Please send your membership fees to the Japan Post Bank account number shown on the money transfer form (please write your 6-digit membership number in the correspondence column)

Notes on remittances to Japan Post accounts

  • Please write either [member’s name] or [member’s 6-digit number] in the name of the payee or in the correspondence box (We receive many deposits for which the subject is unknown. And the reconciliation process is taking an inordinate amount of time!)
  • Please pay the transfer fee
  • Remittances to Japan Post Bank are not immediately reflected on your “My page”. It takes 1-2 weeks for the deposit information to be reflected on your “My page”

3. Receipts Issued

You can issue your own receipt. For details on the procedure, please click on the link below.

  • Issue receipts

If you are unable to use the PDF receipt, please contact the secretariat office.

4. Other information

In addition, “FAQ” regarding membership fees can be found at the following URL.

Q: Paying multi-year membership fees

If you have two years of unpaid membership fees, you will need to complete the payment process for each invoice when you make your membership fee payment on your My Page.

In “the Invoice / Payment Info” several invoices are listed, starting with the newest invoice.

For this reason, just settling the first invoice does not mean that the full amount has been paid, so please ensure that there are no unpaid invoices remaining after settlement.

Q: Cautions for payment of dues via bank check

Two methods of payment are available on “My Page”: credit card payment and online banking payment by bank check.

However, bank checks are only available in Japan and cannot accept money transfers from overseas.

For this reason, if you have selected bank check as your payment method when creating your invoice, please send money from overseas to JASID’s Japan Post Bank account, not to the bank check account number.

Please refer to the following page for instructions on how to send money to the Japan Post Bank account.

Q: I am a full member but I become a graduate student.

Answer

If you are a working adult enrolled in a graduate school, your membership status is Full Member, not Student Member.

Full members who do not hold a full-time position are able to apply for reduced annual membership fee programme.

Reference: Notice of Application for Dues Reduction for FY 2024 [D/L: 17th Sep.]

If you do not have a job and are enrolled in a university, you can change your membership status to Student Member from the next year by following the procedures below.

However, student members are subject to various restrictions on academic activities that are not required of regular members (e.g., conference presentations, paper submissions, etc.).

For this reason, we recommend that you continue to be a full member as long as possible.

Application Procedure

  • The screening will be held once a year in September (the results will be notified in October).
  • The application submission period will be announced in August on our mailing list and in our newsletter.
  • Please apply through the designated application form URL that will be included in the mailing list
  • After review by the Executive Board, the membership will be changed to student membership from the following year.

[ IMPORTANT ] Membership Fee Request for FY2022.

Dear JASID members,

This is JASID Secretariat. Thank you for your cooperation to JASID.
The new fiscal year has started on October 1. We would like to inform you about the billing of membership fees for the fiscal year 2022 (October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022).
Please check the following carefully as there will be some important changes to the timing and methods of payment.

■Billing of membership fees from FY 2022

– JASID’s fiscal year and the public’s fiscal year are half a year apart. As a result, some members did not pay their fees until April of the following year even though they received the bill of membership fee in October. Therefore, from this fiscal year, JASID Secretariat will charge the annual membership fee in every April as a general rule.

– With the above change, JASID Secretariat plans to charge the 2022 membership fee around April 10, 2022. We will announce the date upon our decision.
However, if you need to pay the membership fee by March for any special reason, please contact the JASID Secretariat.

■Methods for Membership fee payment

– As a general rule, the membership fee payment method is the online payment at ‘Invoice/Payment Info’ page after log-in your ‘My Page’ (). You can choose to make payments via credit card or bank transfer, with no transaction charge. Credit card payment has been set as the default when updating to the new system. If bank transfer is more convenient for you, please change it from ‘Change Next Payment Method’ page under ‘My Information’ When your institution pays the membership fee, please select credit card payment by the end of March 2022. When you download the invoice, the account information is written on the invoice.

■Membership fee for 70 years old and over

The JASID Board decided the membership fee for members over 70 years old will be halved from this fiscal year. To apply this, we need your birthday. Although we have already sent emails and letters to the eligible members, please let us know your birthday.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
