開催案内(会員・一般):Comparing Educational Donor Logic in China and Japan: Promises and Practices

NEWSアイキャッチ

This seminar presents preliminary findings from ongoing joint research by scholars at the University of Nottingham and Hiroshima University, titled “Comparing Donor Logic between China and Japan: Development Practitioners’ Agentic Self” funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Bilateral Collaboration.

Within an educational aid architecture often described as dominated by ‘Western’ donor logic, this research explores how Japanese and Chinese donor logics might offer alternatives to dominant forms of educational development. It aims to unpack the diversity of donors’ understandings and practices and to move beyond the notion of educational aid as inherently colonial.
