持続可能性のための高等教育の変革 アジア太平洋地域における グリーンリテラシーのための教育・学習の革新

International Symposium on Transforming Higher Education for Sustainability in the Asia-Pacific Region: Innovations in Teaching and Learning for Green Literacy

開催概要

  • 日時:14:00-17:00, February 19, 2024
  • 方法:対面・オンライン
  • 会場:Meeting Hall 11F
  • 主催:Graduate School of Education, Tohoku University

Background:

With the rapid economic and social change in the Asia-Pacific region, many universities have been actively promoting the SDGs. According to the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) impact ranking (THE, 2022), 534 out of 1,410 reported universities were located in the Asia-Pacific region. One-third of them were in a top 100 university ranking position. Furthermore, these universities have achieved highly performed engagement in promoting the SDGs. Although a vast amount of research in the Asia-Pacific region covers the topic of higher education, studies unveiling the transformation of HES still need to be explored. Therefore, it is necessary to explore how higher education institutions create innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative teaching, learning, and research to promote the SDGs implementation.

Purpose:

This symposium aims at exploring innovative initiatives taken by higher education institutions in Asia and the Pacific region to transform teaching and learning for Green Literacy (in a broad sense, it defines as knowledge and skills which enable individuals to take actions for building sustainability) and contributing to the achievement for the 2030 Agenda. Moreover, it is to bring higher education stakeholders, international organizations and other stakeholders to discuss what are the necessary transformation in teaching and learning required within universities to collectively achieve the SDGs in the Asia-Pacific region.
