Dr North’s research is concerned with understanding inequalities in and through education in low-income contexts and contexts affected by migration and displacement. She has particular interests in girls’ and women’s education and the experiences of migrant learners. She is currently leading work on gender and girls’ education in conflict and crisis contexts as part of the Education Research in Conflict and Crisis (ERICC) research consortium.
